Research Interests: My PhD research focused on the prognostic classification of canine cutaneous mast cell tumors using clinical, pathologic and molecular markers.

Career Goals: My research interests are primarily focused on the molecular pathogenesis of neoplastic diseases. I am currently investigating the role of the c-KIT proto-oncogene in canine cutaneous mast cell tumors, and on defining a prognostic classification system for canine cutaneous mast cell tumors using a combination of clinical, pathologic, and molecular tools. Following the obtainment of my PhD degree I would like to complete a residency in anatomic pathology with the intention of becoming board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. I would like to continue in a career path that would allow me to conduct research focusing on the molecular pathogenesis of complex diseases, either in an academic or a private industry setting, or potentially gain a position in academia that would allow me to conduct research and work in diagnostic pathology.

Hobbies/ Interests: In my free-time I enjoy skateboarding and music.
