At MSU CVM, there is no fixed number of hours required. The exposures that you describe must demonstrate quality, motivation, interest, and understanding of the veterinary profession.
MSU CVM requires that applicants provide evidence of both animal and veterinary exposure sufficient to demonstrate motivation, interest, and understanding of the veterinary profession. This exposure may include the care, knowledge, and experience gained while working in a veterinary, agricultural, research, human health, biomedical, or zoological setting, or with wildlife. This experience should be of appropriate breadth and depth. The quality of this exposure/experience is evaluated on the basis of the applicant's description and by the letters of evaluation. At MSU CVM, there is no fixed number of hours required. The exposures that you describe must demonstrate quality, motivation, interest, and understanding of the veterinary profession. Nationally, of the veterinary schools that require veterinary-related exposure, the minimum number of hours is approximately 80 and the maximum approximately 500.
